Clutch/Gear problems

Hi,

I recently got a '99 Silvia and it has been giving me a few problems that I have to get fixed.

When the car is cold I cannot get into any gear without the engine stalling. That's been getting worse each time. It seems as if I'm trying to get the car into gear with the clutch only half disengaged (even though the pedal is hard pressed to the firewall). There's also a slight hum once the fluids are up to temp. whenever I have the clutch in

What could this be ?

Yeah, slave is the first thing I would change too as it's cheap and easy. A garage shouldn't charge more than £30 for fitting if you haven't got a clue what your doing.
