Is it the same for the R33 GTST as for the S15?

What do you mean? a sender is a sender. The only different thing would be the sandwitch plate that it bolts to. I think all the nissan oil filter housings are common. so i would say yea.

Yep the sender is the unit that will convert the heat temps measured into electronic signals so one end goes into the BSPT port (if British made sandwich plate), the other end will plug into whatever unit is designed to output the electronic signals on the display
