s14 sr20det s15 sr20det differences

hello all i want to no is what the differences in engine power are

I KNOW the s14 200sx is 200bhp standard
and the spec r s15 silvia is 250 standard

but whats doing my head in is my mate has a s14 completely stock and he seems to think the s15 spec r silvia which i have is the same power as his.

I KNOW the spec r is 250bhp but what isit that makes is 50bhp more?seems its the same sr20det engine?

S15 has larger Injectors I belive, and the Stock ecu map is totally different.

Sure there is more to come though...

yee i did wonder if the ecu map was something to do with it

just my mate cannot be told anything so im guna slap him in the face with the facts lol.

i wondered if the turbo was bigger or different but yeh the injectors and different map sound about right

I think the coil packs are not interchangeable also. Something diff about the rocker cover too I believe.

And YES! You are correct! Coils are not interchangeable

You have a better turbo if your s15 is 1999-2001 then you have a ball bearing turbo,
you have a more efficient engine,
Cam and vvt profiles are different,
engine map is different
injectors are bigger
Fuel pump is bigger
Clutch and flywheel is better
Gear box has different ratios
S15 has extra sensors
WMIC is bigger/better


s15 is lighter

There is loads more

there is NO way both cars standard that the s14 engine has the same power as the s15.
Have you not raced him yet??? that will show him?

Im not a biased s15 owner ive had a 1994 jap s14 and a 1999 uk spec s14a and now a s15

in order would be

s15
s14
uk spec s14a's are a pile of underpowerd ****. even the jap s14's have more power than uk s14's due to our ****ter fuel and stupid emission regulations
