A three decade practice, Gautam Bhatia weaves architecture, writings and sketches seamlessly into varied expressions – sculpture, painting or building. Inside the Delhi based studio, drawings serve a larger purpose; architecture is not only expressed but also scrutinised, experimented and invented and subverted. The drawing board becomes his critique of the current state of architecture, undoing the present, and remaking the future. By deviating from the conventional, new ideas emerge from the drawings – drawings whose origins can be traced to his training as writer, artist and architect.
