Track day setup

Hi all,
Has anyone got a track proven setup of wheel and tyre dimensions that they would recommend? General advice so far has leaned towards 225 front and 255 rear width and most are saying a 40 profile is a good midpoint between flex and rigidity. But my car is around 500bhp and I’ve removed the ABS so I can’t shake the feeling wider would be better.

I’m similar power for comparison. I’ve run…

225/45/17 - 235/45/17

And

245/35/18 - 255/35/18

Both with federal RS-R tyres.

I do still have ABS, but I’ve never had it come in on track.

That was with K Sport 356mm fronts and brembo rears and BC Racing coilovers.

This year it’s now on KW Clubsports and Alcons all round so we’ll see how it goes.

Nope, biggest difference was swapping from road to track day tyres.
