Hi All,

Im Liam, 21 from West Sussex. I currently have a little EK civic vti (which i stupidly spent £1000's on) but im currently selling up and looking for an S15 & im completely new to RWD and Turbo power.

I have a few questions if anyone could be kind enough to answer.

Alot of my friends have S14&14a's, and to my understanding the SR20det's in those are VVT and S15's dont have this (so no vvt rattle), but they have a larger ball bearing turbo in stock form?

Whats the reliablilty and servicing like on them and whats involved? My civic has an oil change every 6-7k miles with fliters, plugs every 10-15k. cambelt every 70k. As for reliability the civic is amazing never missed a beat or let me down and still pulls well at 150,000 miles.

Any problems with them and anything to look out for when looking for a good one? Rust issues?

Many Thanks

Liam

S15 is still VVT

If you don't have experience driving RWD then just buy an S13 first and learn how to drive RWD ,

S15's are expensive and it's a lot of money to potentially smash up (I've done it when I was 19)

Ahh thanks for that, always thought they were non VVT, so the only difference between the 14 - 15 is the turbos? I will definately have to take it very easy, its been a dream car ive always wanted to own.

Rust can be a problem with them due to not being under sealed and all being imports, as for he rwd factor I went from a ep2 civic to an s15 in terms of car a different kettle of fish, altbough you have to be awake if you push the car in the wet! and there truly doesn't seem to be a common fault. I don't know what service intervals are meant to be but people seem to be servicing between 3-6k.

This is exactly what i was looking for, any areas worse than others for rust?? Just an oil and filter change every 3-6k then? what about plugs every other time or something. this is very very tempting now. went out again in a 14a last night (auto though) seemed like a right laugh.
