I DONT BELIEVE IT!! Weve had 2 solid days of non stop rain now here.. and on the route in just now to work, they stopped working O_O'

With needing to have them on almost 3 clicks due to the amount of door pour you can imagine the 25mile drive was ****!

They were working well for about 5-10mile or so, they were coming down, stopped half way for a moment.. went right down then wouldnt do jack all after that.

No time and too dark to be checking fuse's etc :( Anyone think of any cause's or happened to anyone before?

lol, i tried that last weekend Jez. its a bloody nightmare! i want to give mine a paint too.

id like to know the answer to that too :p

also, mint, get a 12v straight on the motor. see if its actually the motor thats the problem.

if thats fine its probably in the stalks. the wiring is bloody simple for wipers, all the gubbins are usually in the stalks.

worse case, you can have a ghetto setup running the wipers straight to the battery :p

spray some wd-40 on them and then you have to be a bit forcefull on them and wiggle them back and forward untill they come off,you dont have to swing out of them but you get the idea, hope this helps:)

or string through the window? :p lol. Ok thanks lads i'll have a gander this afternoon.
Just like Alastair McCrae did a few years back, shoe laces FTW

I doubt it but could it be the knuckle? If you can manually move the passenger side wiper with little or no resistance it could be the problem!

I'm painting my scuttle panel & wipers this weekend too, I have the paint but should I sand them down with very fine paper first?

^^ I did this last week but used 'Autoglym black dye' on the plastic as I can imagine paint peeling off after not very long. It works really well and lasts ages. My wipers came off easy once the bolts were out, then the scuttle pannel pops off after removing the little clip in the middle and the rubber too. :)

No idea ion the wipers tho' mint :( My diesel punto's wiper arm linkages fell off a few months ago, so I know how bad it is without them in the rain! I rainex'd my window after that incase the cable tie snaps and it falls off again!!

Iv also taken enough photo's for a "How-To" on fixing the broken knuckle joint on the unit.

Thats what the problem turned out to be. Broken lingage. A Drill and cable tie = JOB DONE!

Took all afternoon though tbh.. Fixed my heaters.. fixed my wipers.. got 2x New Yoko tyres.. all the volks are back on, lowered a tad more.. fitted further 10mm spacers ALL ROUND! Sorted the graphics out with SJS ;)

E P I C!... JAE.. Here I come
