Spec-S diff ratio?

Iv just upgraded my standard diff to a vlsd unit, I just wanted to know if its bad to do this as I feel the ratio is different and the car is more sluggish. I seem to lose power in 2nd when I am drifting?

I have another standard open spec-s diff, would it be possible to swap over the crown wheel from the standard diff to the vlsd unit without changing the pinion gear or do i have to change them as a pair?

Any suggestions welcome

personally i would take the VLSD head out off the diff in your car at the moment (shim it) and put that head into your old open diff casing (using the open ring gear), so you have the correct ring & pinon to match the 5-speed box. I did this with a HLSD head in my open diff, my ring gear was 49:12 as mentioned by feast japan so i still have same ratio just now i can spin both.

S14 JDM Manual 4.083 (N/a) or 3.692 (Turbo)
S14 JDM Auto Turbo 48:11 ~ 4.3

could someone verify this?

The 3.69 did not come in any S14, only the S15 with the 6-speed. R33 auto/turbo is 4.3. S14 only came with 4.08 or 4.11 as far as I know.
