What year is best/worst?

Hi all,

New to the forum and looking for a bit of pre-import advice. In my intro thread I said I'm looking for a 2002 model, but gazing the web I notice there aren't that many.

Is there a better year of S15 to go for say 99 or 2000 instead of 01/02? Or is there no real difference in spec between the years?

Reason I want newest possible is simply that, just want it to be as fresh as possible when I get my hands on it, but is this a false attitude to take with these kind of cars?

I'd go more on condition than the year it was registered over here tbh.

As already stated I dnt think there is a best or worst as such it's all about the condition, especially when the newest S15 are over 10 years old now.

One thing that might interest you is that some came with a T28 turbo while others came with a T28BB, this info can be seen here in part of the useful threads sticky:

I did read that thing about the turbo differences from year to year. are there any drawbacks to having either turbo?

I guess newer would be worth slightly more in comparison to same condition older one but i'd agree, a great condition 99 is better than an OK 02
