One take the gear lever out of box. Will more than likely get in way. Circlip holds it in. 2. Use clutch alignment tool. 3 Open engine mounts and lift up front of engine. It will tilt box down more so you can get the bolts on top. 4. have really small hands. 5. Good luck with it.. Few hrs work in it..
I am putting it in with my mate who is a very good mechanic so no trouble there, but he's not done an S15 before (shock-horror!) so I just wondered if it's significantly different from any other RWD motor?
The garage which did my gearbox, clutch and fly didn't mention any problems with the actual fitting. It was only the clutch line and slave that were causing issues, and that was because it was an aftermarket clutch.
If your clutch or gearbox was to go, how much sense would putting stock parts in as replacements be? I suppose this depends on how much power and what usage is?
