Gatebil Festival in Mantorp, Sweden 2-4.7.2010

I promised to write a story of our trip to Gatebil. Well here it comes... :nod:

First of all, Gatebil is orginally from Norway and it now has one event in Sweden. This year, it was held in Mantorp racetrack and I can tell you, it was f*cking awesome event.

We leaved Finland with my mate, who has motorcycle, drove to Turku and took a ship to Stockholm and drove 200-300km to Mantorp.

There so much action that you don't know where to look at. Lots of 700-1000hp cars driving around track like there is no tomorrow. In track there was also lots of powerful real showcars, that has lots of money in the bodywork and they were still pushing their machines _hard_!

In the pit was dozens show-stoppers and really nice racecars. You were able go and see whats was everybody doing on their cars. One famous audi racecars engineers, did a full engine rebuild in a one night!

In camping area, it was partying all day and night! Music there, music here, discolights and so on. Some swedish people bring huge tent/stand/shed and pick-up truck with their own DJ's, mixing tables, strobolights and smokemachines.

At night on the stage were swedish cover-band "Bad Influence" and their rockmusic which was great. Later came Vip Models with their little bikinis and well tanned skins

Event started on friday morning and when we arrive at 12.30pm there was like +29c. Little wind so it was not so bad. On saturday there was over +30c and no wind at all, so was bit uncomfortable. It didn't rain at all!

There was approx. six S15's.
Mine, some swedish/finnish guy, who have just bought one (not yet a member), Floztyles limegreen widebody (what a nice guy ), black one full race-spec and two Driftmonkey red silvias.

In the track there were no breaks at all, always something was going on the track.

Well this my review of the event called Gatebil. Next year we are going to Rudskogen, Norway because everyone I talked to (swedish and norwegian) said that in Rudskogen there is even more better and bigger and spectacular event than in Mantorp, so I really have to see that with my own eyes

Finally... It was very good event and I can suggest it to everyone. From Finland we drove together 900km and no problems at all. And in the motorway there was even race between me and Porcshe Gt3, you can all argue how it ends

I wanna take our cars there tho... how much for the ferry lol??
