Do you think this could just possibly be the cause of my boost surging and low rev overfuelling?

Some muppet fitted it back like that (not me). Its called a 'MAF bypass pipe' or an FBU.

chuffin hell. Would this cause boost surge though as the turbo doesnt really care where the air comes from. Wouldnt this just really mess up fueling? Just thinking out loud as usual. Definately cant help though.

My instinct is probably not. Was just jumping to a concludion there really. Sure is sure that's what fecked up my idle. Going to have to get everything remapped again now... Oh, well. Got a nearly new BB turbo to replace the existing one (got it cos it was a good price, because of the weird noises the turbo made and because of the surging). I'll wack the 740s in as well and then get a new map done. Should make a bit of difference...

The difference in engine noise is astounding now the pipe's back on. Almost sounds like my S14 used to...
