anybody know how to fit a water temp gauge

have a water temp gauge and im tryin to fit it but not really sure where the termostat should be tapped into.. all i got with the gauge was a 1/2" bushon and a 3/4" bushon which the termostat screws into and the bushon screws into something else in the engine bay.. anybody know what it screws into...?

you'll need to get a "T" piece that taps into one of the rad hoses. :)

Or get part welded into the water system. ON my S14 I used a sensor in the water outlet elbow by the CAS.

you need a 32mm top hose adapter like this http://www.rspec.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_88&products_id=386
then just cut a section of the hose out and fit this in its place with 2 jubilee clips. make sure the threaded hole is tapped to the same as the sensor and use ptfe when fitting the sensor in.:thumbs:
thanks mate really helpful i'd bought a 3/4" plumbing fitting and its ugly as f***.. have yi ever ordered off this site before.?

yeah loads, they are spot on. i'd recommend thier oil sandwich plate too if you want to fit oil temp and pressure gauges, i've had mine on for months with no probs:thumbs:

ive already ordered the sandwich plate today, comin all the way from the states so will prob take ages if i had of known about this website i would have got both from there.. thanks for the help mate..
