head unit brackets?

hello people, just wanted to pick some of your brains (again).

the car i have bought hasn't got a stereo in it and i am considering two options, a double din screen or single motorised screen, but either way i need to know whether i need to buy radio brackets to bolt the cage to in order to get a good solid fit, and if so where can i get some/does the car come with them or are they even required?

in the past i have fitted head units by slotting the cage into the plastic aperture and bending the tabs to lock it in place, but the things can damage the console facia by stressing it and causing it to crack, also they ended up rattling and having to be sorted again over time, just want to make sure i do it once, properly.

So long as someone hasn't nicked them, there are two fitting brackets behind the centre console which simply screw onto a head unit and fit securely into the console. You can sort of see them in this photo:
