I am thinking of purchasing a set of gramlight 57pros in 17x8 and 17x9, but i'd like to know how they compare in weight to the stock rims on an ADM S15?

Something ard there.

tyreless 17" gramlight is ard 8kg i think.

I prefer the 57pro, but would you think the relative weight difference is substantial?

Nope..The TE37, lmgt4, 57F are relatively the same weight. The lightest is the CE28/30 I think. But it's only a bit of difference. They are in the same category.

Choose your favourite design and offset. ;)

Oh. Get a good set of tyres. I recommend Michelin Pilot Sports. WAY better than Potenza RE01 (non-R).

I haven't found the 57F pro in 17", but as i prefer the 57pro, i am not too dissapointed - the price of the 57pro is a little hard to digest for a 2 piece cast rim, as the forged rims are about the same cost.

so the question is, are forged rims genuinely better/superior to cast?
and what offsets would you recommend for standard suspension?

57F pros are the daddies.
Trouble is they are no longer being made by RAYS.

Just go with the looks. The casted one is prob only 500g-1kg heavier.

Depends how much mods you wanna do and how hard you drive the car, and what you use the car for.

Track: the wider the better.

Daily: Recommended Rays offset.

It's on one of the wheel offset thread (pinned) on this forum.

But here you go:
17x7.5+30
17x8.5+40

215/45R17
235/40R17

Because I'm using these. :p Would prefer wider for better cornering... but I'm happy!
