Just got a fmic and now the boost has dropped to .4 bar. I was expecting a drop but it seems a lot to me.
Do I have a boost leak or is that drop normal??

That seems a bit excessive.

Does it idle ok? It sounds like a boost leak to me.

Have you got any form of boost controller on it?

What was the boost before?

When I fitted my FMIC the coupling hose at the bottom of the cold pipe was comming off the hose, got so bad I eventually had no boost.

Check everything you have changed, must be a leak somewhere.

Have you got the hose that runs from the factory boost solenoid to the intake side plumbed in right. If you do check that you have the restrictor from the stock hose and ram it down the new silicon hose. It wont boost properly with out that in with the factory controller. Also check you BOV isn't leaking(opening).

The only other thing I can think off is the FMIC is possibly damaged and leaking itself?

Best thing to do is get soapy bubbles and put it everywhere you can think of to see if there's an air leak...

Ya over fueling but was like that before I fitted the intercooler.

Had a good look again today and I found a small leak, fixed it but only got about .05 extra.
I'm thinking now that it's just the size of the intercooler.
Thinking of getting a boost controller to get the boost back up.

The size of the intercooler shouldnt make the boost drop, especially to that extent. You normally just get slightly more lag.

Check for split vacuum hoses too, that's a common one too and very likely as you're running on actuator pressure.

^^^ +1 deffo won't be size of intercooler. Lag is usually not noticeable until you start making very high bhp :)

Is it holding and maintaing a steady 0.4 bar? If it is then it's more than likely going to be a vacum hose, rather than a boost leak.
