My FMIC is looking a bit of a state on the outside and I'm looking to clean down. Anyone got any wonder products I can use to make the process easier?

i would use metalpolish on the end tanks.
As for the core, there must be some chemical it could take a bath in :)

Preferrably not acid based...
Use H2SO4 ;)
just kidding.
I know there is some chemical people like to use for cleaning radiators and stuff.
It will be cleaned on the inside too.
Just don't know what it is and where to get it.

What about a pressure washer and some degreaser. Just don't get the pressure washer too close or it may bend your fins. Maybe some truck wash stuff (sorry.....lorry for you in the Northern Hemisphere), that stuff is pretty strong without being an acid wash.

OK. You might want to double check this first as it's just something I've heard.

*diesel-fuel
*wash very thorough with water
*use degreaser
*use dishwashing agent

Toss in some extra "wash very thorough with water" whenever you want :)
