Hi Nicely, have you any resource as to how to identify what year manufacture from the Chassis no. on the car? I was told Nissan FAST software can but I dont seem to be able to get a hang of that software. Appreciate your help. Many thanks in advance.

If you PM the chassis number, I can do it :)

FAST is available for download from here, but you have to be a contributing member to see the details.

You have a PM :)

I've edited the info off your post, as you don't really want that on a public forum :)

Nicely,

How about researching and putting up a sticky Serial No. guide & year made for the JDM S15 folks all over the world. This is to enable owners to check on their prospective S15 year made, T28 bearing type etc.

Example & Estimation only :

Year Made 1999 (S/N 005000 - 020000)
2000 (S/N 020000 - 028000)
2001 (S/N 028000 - 033000)
2002 (S/N 033000 - 036000)

I have now confirmed the following:

S15-000101 to S15-018766 = 01/1999-12/1999
S15-018767 to S15-026744 = 01/2000-12/2000
S15-026745 to S15-030099 = 01/2001-07/2001

This is the limit of the version of the A2 CD of FAST which we hold.

S15-000101 to S15-025426 = T28BB 14411-91F00
S15-025427 to S15-025848 could be either 14411-91F00 (T28BB) or 14411-75F00 (T28). These were all off the factory line in October 2000 and FAST cannot verify which turbo was fitted.
S15-025850 onwards = T28 14411-75F00 (the same as the Euro S14/a)

So can we gather from that, that 30,000 S15's were made, roughly.

They were made for another year after that... So I'd say 45000-50000.

With the 3 markets together thats roughly 80,000 to 90,000 S15 over 3 years? I dont see how Nissan would lose money. Ghosan should have continued on with S16, S17....:furious:

No. They wouldn't have sold nearly as many in Oz and NZ. Plus they weren't sold in Oz till 2001.

Found this old thread when I was searching. My girlfriend bought an interesting S15 from Japan Last year. It´s been blue and orange and been in F&F Tokyo Drift in the US. Brought back to Japan and painted gray again and featured in the drift scene in the mountains. It´s the leading car. But even more interesting is the chassisnr. It reads S15-000091.
