Battery not charging?

probably a stuffed battery..... if you alternator was not working and your battery way low as hell, when you turn your headlights on you car would nearly die, put a multimeter over the terminals when the car is running if you are getting 14v then your alternator is fine, once the car is off and left for a few hour check the voltage of the battery without the car running and if its less then 12v you battery is not holding charge

As Spoonman said, check battery and alternator with a Multi Meter to isolate the culprit but I'd say the battery is not holding or accepting charge

Thanks for the replies!

managed to get it sorted :) the plug to the alternator was dodgy!
But now there is something draining the battery constantly when the car isn't on :-(

sounds like a common theme at the moment.... minty is having the same problem with the battery being drained.

Haha mines been flat aswel happens 3or 4 times now iv given it good runs and charged it seperatly but is flat in a morning
