Looks like it could be a parking sensor display to me, in merc they have them like this and it lights up a bar at a time till its full and that means your as close as you should be...

Weird, why would you have a parking sensor reader on the rear windscreen in the roof lining? They are always around the dash somewhere.

Makes perfect sense to me, when reversing you're usually looking backwards...

Yeah as above in the Mercedes clk they were build into the top of the rear seats between the headrests...even if your not looking backwards you will look in your rear view when reversing so makes sense to me also

Ah don't see it was stuck on rear. Yeh is say reverse park sensors u can get some that are metal strips that go behind bumper
