I've put my Walbro into the cradle, but the ports don't line up.

I've put the original rubber holder at the top in correctly, as the Walbro one is too big:

But the ports don't line up:

What am I doing wrong? The Walbro is the correct one and is meant to be a direct fit.

You have to 'adjust' the pump holder and the pipe that the pump links up to. In the kit you should have some foam. Put this around the pump and use a tie wrap to secure it to the pump holder, just incase.

Nicely's done a guide for it which I found really helpful.

All done, just had to bend the hardline a bit to align. Everything fitting together very snug, so it should be fine.

The Walbro prime is quite loud, a lot louder than stock. The car starts, so I assume everything is fine.

Just need to finish off my hardwire guide now.

Someone's just cleared this up over on Driftworks. The S15 and S14 cradle are in fact different, the S15 one has a kink in the hardline, but the S14 one doesn't.

S14 on the left, S15 on the right:

Glad it's sorted it for you

I scratched my head for a while when I fitted mine after reading it was a direct fit too, untill i tried the S14 cradle :)

There's meant to be 2 varients of the pump. That could be the difference to whether the ports are inline (which would fit perfectly) or on opposite sides.

So is this only a problem for the S15? I assume that on S14s there isn't much of a problem has the way the hardpipe is routed on the cradle.

TriniGT, do you have the part numbers for the Walbro that is an exact fit into the S15s?

s?
Yeah, the pump drops straight in the S14 cradle with no problems. That's what I used on mine as I had one spare.

The problem is probably due to sellers assuming it's the same fitment as S14's when in fact it's slightly different. When I ordered mine I said it was for a S15, but when it arrived it had got s14 on the receipt.

It still fits in the S15 cradle fine, just bend the hardpipe slightly.

Yep it does fit, but if there is a model that is functionally equivalent for the same price, that is a direct fit, it would make sense to just by that one?

Yes, of course, if you can be bothered to find out. Personally I'd just bend the pipe :)

You'll be wanting the GSS342 with the ports on the same side. I just installed one into my S15 tank a couple months ago.
